About RRA and founders Greg and Susan Traverso

1993Today The mission of Red Rhino Adventures is “to inspire and bring the dream and romance of the African safari to life.”  Red Rhino Adventures (formally Red Rhino Tours) was formed by Greg and Susan Traverso in 1993. Since that time, Greg and Susan have been designing innovative classic safaris for clients from all over the world.

Commitment to excellence, attention to detail, and a focus on personal service has been hallmark of their work.  Each safari with RRA is a unique experience, and every safari is designed with safety and the comfort level of the client in mind. In addition to providing safaris, they are also the founders of the Red Rhino Orphanage Project.

People who tour with us tell us that their lives have been deeply affected by travel to Africa. We are sure that if you travel to Africa the experience will add richness and depth to your life, and give you a new perspective and inspiration.  When designing tours we keep this in mind at all times, and take seriously the “adventure of a lifetime” that we know it is for our clients.

The Founding of the Red Rhino Orphanage Project

A deep love of Africa, combined with a commitment to making a lasting and permanent difference for a few children, was the inspiration behind Greg and Susan’s idea to start the Red Rhino Orphanage Project in Kenya.  After leading and organizing tours in Kenya for over 10 years, Greg and Susan purchased 5 acres of land 20 miles to the southeast of Nairobi.  Together with their close friend David Saunders, and strong support from family and friends and the larger Red Rhino Family, the Red Rhino Children’s Center was constructed over a period of five years. The doors opened on August 10, 2010.

A portion of all profits from your Red Rhino Adventure Safari go directly to the Red Rhino children under our immediate care. Please consider further supporting our children by being a child sponsor, bringing specific needed supplies to Kenya for the children on your trip, or by helping in other ways.
